A friend who heard our demo described us as \'oasis beating up powderfinger\'. That wasn\'t the intention, but it makes us laugh ; we were aiming for somewhere between the kinks and the dandy warhols - 60\'s r&b with a bit of the 90\'s shoegazing sound. The band has been around for 2 years or so now. Originally we just treated it as an excuse to get a load of beers in and invite our mates to the studio to party. Eventually we got our heads around writing some songs and playing properly. We made it to the semi-finals of Sydney University\'s band comp in 2001, so i guess we must have learnt something. A few of us have been in bands before. Tom (guitars) used to play around Sydney\'s backpacker pubs in an Oasis covers band. Terry (more guitars) gigged with his goth band in the UK before moving here. Toby (bass) was in an acid jazz band. Chris (drums) was in a rock band in Switzerland . And Daniel ? He had this reputation as being the \'the guy who crashes your party, drinks all the beer and sings Beatles songs\', so we figured we\'d give him a go. In the last couple of years weve played at a lot of the Sydney venues, with supports to bands like Shutterspeed, Bluebottle Kiss and Rumanastone. A few headlines have come our way too, and occasional trips out to the suburbs.
